London Co-operative Movement Year-end Celebration

Join us for a celebration of the last year’s activity across London’s co-operative movement.

Tuesday 10 December 2013 near Aldgate East Underground Station / Whitechapel Gallery

5 – 7 pm social in a great community pub.
7 pm Turkish Restaurant in our own room for around 60 co-operators on the first floor – sorry there is no lift.
9.30 pm approximately – return to the pub !

A £15 contribution for the food will be requested on the night.

To join our celebration please send Gregory Cohn an email and please let us know your main course dinner preference. Gregory shall then confirm and send you the addresses.

The celebration is organised by Tower Hamlets Co-operative Development Agency in partnership with Co-operatives London, London Co-op Development and Tower Hamlets Community Credit Union.

MENU

SELECTION OF STARTERS

Hummus – Chick pea puree with tahini, lemon juice, olive oil and garlic.
Tabule – Freshly chopped parsley, red onions, mint tomatoes, lemon juice & olive oil.
Kisir – Chopped vegetables, crushed wheat, lemon juice, pepper paste & olive oil.
Zeytin Yagli Patlican Salata – Aubergine puree, tahini, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and yoghurt.
Tamara – Smoked cod roe pate with olive oil and lemon juice.
Cacik – Mix of yoghurt, cucumber, mint, olive oil and garlic. 

MEAT MAIN COURSE – QASIDA MIXED GRILL

Chops, ribs, adana, chicken & lamb shish, chicken wings, pirzola & mixed shawarma slices.
Rice and Salad

VEGETARIAN MAIN COURSE OPTIONS

Musakka – Layers of cooked Mediterranean vegetables stuffed with specially prepared vegetables and topped with béchamel sauce and served with salad.
Mucver – Courgette fritters served with homemade Kisir and Cacik (see above in starters).
Falafel – Mashed chickpeas, broad beans, fresh vegetables fried and served with tahini sauce and salad.
Kizartma Soslu – Fried aubergine courgette, potatoes, carrot, peppers served with guava, yoghurt sauce & cheddar cheese.

Hot Bread

Selection of fruit juices and soft drinks and water – the restaurant does not serve alcohol & we cannot bring our own.
